F. Chopin's birthday concert

The F. Chopin Institute in Montreux organizes an exceptional concert to celebrate the 207th birthday of the Polish composer Frederic Chopin (March 1, 1810 - October 17, 1849).

The internationally renowned singer Valentina Pennino will perform Chopin's Polish songs, very little presented to the public, probably because of the linguistic difficulty. Valentina Penino is fluent in Polish. Two pianists, Magdalena Hirsz and Alexander Reitenbach, founders of the F. Chopin Institute will present the early works of the famous composer, somewhat unrecognized and neglected in the traditional repertoire. We will hear, among others, Rondo in E flat major and Variations in D minor. The concert is supported by the Japanese piano brand Kawai Shigeru, one of the favorite ofmaestro Michael Pletnev.
